I went cycling at lunchtime today. Partly because it looked like the weather might turn later (it hasn’t yet), but partly to try having a proper break in the middle of the day. It was a pleasant ride, but I did pass by a number of non-essential shops of the type that reopened today. The queues were massive, and from reading the news it’s clear it’s not just here. I don’t think I’ll be doing any non-essential shopping any time soon, and thankfully there are all sorts of ways to get everything I need left on my doorstep with no social contact and minimal risk.
In other news, I’m off work next week and the weather looks like it might clear up enough to get a few decent rides in. I may not be able to go away, but I want my week off to feel different so I’ll be following a different routine and turning off the computer I use for work for a week. I’ll also be trying to write all the half-finished blog posts that track my latest technological experiments.
